The NASCAR Cup garage is at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the longest race in the championship, the Coco Cola 600. It’s a 600 miles challenge, which some regard as one of the most physically demanding races in the series. Recently via his podcast Kevin Harvick has given his verdict on who he thinks would win the race.
The 2014 Cup champion predicted that Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott is his pick to win the 600 miles races at Charlotte. Kevin Harvick highlighted that the No:9 Chevy drivers’ race style suits the race as he really doesn’t make many mistakes. So, the ex-SHR driver is convinced Elliott would have a solid day on Sunday.
I’m going to pick Chase Elliott this week. I’m picking Chase Elliott this week, he’s great at Charlotte. He’s had quietly had good finishes throughout the year. Won at Texas. But I just think this is his style race, right? Game of attrition, not making mistakes, these guys, he doesn’t make mistakes on pit road. They’re just, they’re solid and I think this is his style of race. So, I’m going with the 9.Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
The 2020 Cup champion is getting back his best since his redemption win at Texas, that ended his winless streak that started in 2022. In the last five races, he has finished inside the top-5 thrice and he hasn’t finished outside the top-15 just once so far this season, showing his consistency and return of form.

The No:9 HMS drivers’ is racing in both Cup and Xfinity Series this weekend. He chose the weekend for double duty as it fitted his schedule and he wanted to have more laps at CMS, as it would help him to have a better weekend. So, he is excited for the opportunity and how it would playout.
Charlotte fit my schedule and it fit their schedule. I wanted to get some more laps here, and I felt like it would be a good weekend to do that. It was on the calendar, so it worked out really well. I'm excited about it.Chase Elliott said.
The extra laps around the track would be give him an edge going into the main race on Sunday and as Kevin Harvick explained it would help him race with less mistakes. Chase Elliott would be one of the main contenders for the win on Sunday if he does what he does the best.
