Team Penske Racing’s Joey Logano marked his name in the history books by winning his third NASCAR Cup championship at Phoenix, becoming the most accomplished active Cup racer. He won the Bill France Cup, bouncing back from an underwhelming regular season, by winning in three races in the post-season.

Peaking at the right moment to earn the championship has been the trademark of Joey Logano’s career in the playoff era and he deserves all the credit for thriving under the playoff pressure. Now his former rival Kevin Harvick via his podcast shared his feelings about the win and tried to explain the factor that makes Logano so competitive under pressure.

So, he’s got a special talent, special gift to be able to balance all that. I think when you look at the balance that he has on his life with his family, he’s very grounded with his team and who he is as a person, very confident. He’s dangerous and they let this guy back in the championship chase and they capitalized on every single moment that they kept handing him.

There is nothing more rewarding than being able to succeed in those moments, and Joey Just thrives on it. And he figures out a way to take it to a different level even to his own admission than he does in the regular season in the last ten weeks when the playoffs start.

Kevin Harvick said.

The ability to survive the pressure is something special and if someone like Denny Hamlin had the same, he would have been a multi-time champion. For the same reason Joey Logano will remain a championship contender for couple more years to come and will go down as one of the all-time best.
