The NASCAR Cup garage is at Iowa Speedway for the maiden premier stock racing event at 0.8 miles track. Fans and drivers have long been advocating to host a first division race at the track and NASCAR finally gave the green flag for this season. Ahead of the weekend, 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick has made his race predictions.

The former SHR driver is betting on three times Dayton 500 winner Denny Hamlin to come out victorious at the track. If Kevin Harvick’s prediction comes true it would be the fourth win of the year for the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran and might also put him back in the pole position in the championship table.

I think we’re back in the wheelhouse of the Gibbs cars. I think Denny Hamlin gets back on track. We would — Clint [Bowyer] was arguing with me in the booth over the Gibbs cars. Well, the No. 11 car, in general. Just that he was off-track. They needed to get the wheels back on track.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.

Denny Hamlin is seeking redemption this weekend a Iowa after his tyop-5 streak came to a halt last Sunday at Sonoma. His engine busted two laps into the race at Sonoma and was credited with the lats position, this cost him the P1 in the points table as race winner Kyle Larson took the lead for the regular season championship fight.

Kevin Harvick sees a chance of a Joey Logano win as well

The ex-RCR driver also has another veteran in mind who can also win. He pointed out that two times Cup champion Joey Logano has good shot at winning the race as he has always been really good at tracks that gets a new modification and asserted that the No:22 Ford team is also in good form at the moment.

When I look at the new asphalt, and I look at the size of the race track, I just — it screams Joey Logano, to me. You know, every time something new happens, it’s Joey… I mean, I don’t think he was a winning car, but I think he was capable of running better than I thought he was going to run. I think a lot of that had to do with figuring out the race track, having practice and everything that they did, up until they crashed.
Kevin Harvick said.

The Fox broadcaster is expecting a veteran driver to score a win at track and it would be interesting to see if his predictions would come true. Both of his choices are solid and both of them are super motivated to win for different reasons.
