The NASCAR Cup Series garage is at Michigan International Speedway for the Firekeepers Casino 400 and everyone in the garage is looking forward to see the winner, after the entertaining races the series produced last two weeks. 2014 Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick has a solid pick when asked to give his prediction for the event.
In the latest episode of the Fox Sports Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick admitted that he expects his formal rival Joey Logano to win the race. He sees the Ford having a solid advantage over the Toyota and Chevy, on Sunday as it’s a track that suits him. Logano gets the nod over his compatriots, due to his superior experience and race winning expertise.
I’m going to take Logano. I don’t think you’re going to beat the Fords this weekend. I think you’re going to have to have a Ford. So, I just — I like his experience.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
Joey Logano had a weak start to the 2025 season, just like his teammates, but gradually made a comeback to secure a win at Texas Motor Speedway. He has finished inside the top 10 just four times this season, but three of those finishes came in the last four events making him one of the most inform drivers in the grid.
Kevin Harvick’s co-host of the podcast, Kaitlyn Vincie also gave her prediction for the event. She went for a Chevy driver in Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron. The youngster has been solid in the last few races, missing out on wins due to small margins. He hasn’t been able to win a race since the Daytona 500 but has been consistent front runner with 7 top 5 runs from 14 races, earning him a place in the top 3 of the championship table.
I’m going with William Byron. He had a decent showing here last race.

Kevin Harvick’s teammate Mamba Smith has a unique prediction for the race
In the same conversation, the third host of the show, Mamba Smith made his picks for the race wins. He is backing RFK Racing’s Ryan Preece, a Ford driver like Harvick’s choice. Smith made his choice inspired by the recent impressive performance from the RFK team and that made him choose the veteran over youngster Carson Hocevar.

I really want to go with Carson, because it’s a home track for him, but I’m going to go RFK, I’m going with Ryan Preece. They seem to have some real like, big smoke speed at these mile-and-a-halves. They’ve been kind of knocking on the door for some better finishes than they’ve gotten. So, I’m going to go with Preece.
Mamba Smith said.
The 2025 season so far has been solid for Preece, who is seeking career revival at RFK. He started the season slow like his teammates but was able to make a comeback. He finished inside the top-10 from the last ten races with two of them coming in the last three races, making him the best racer of the team at the moment.
He has the form and momentum on his side to produce a solid run; it’s up to the No:60 squad to field a car for him that is solid enough. It would be interesting to see which podcaster’s prediction would come true and who would win the Michigan race.
