Coming into this weekend’s NASCAR Cup race at Phoenix Raceway, one of the biggest points of discussion is Tyler Reddick’s win streak. He made history last Sunday winning at COTA and becoming the only racer to win first three races of the season. The 23XI Racing driver is eyeing on a fourth straight win and Kevin Harvick doesn’t see it happening.

The 2014 Cup Series champion is expecting Ryan Blaney and Team Penske to deliver as they have always done at the venue. On his Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick asserted that the No:12 team will be tough to beat, as he has been strong in all of Phoenix races in the Next-Gen era.  But his teammates Austin Cindric and Joey Logano though haven’t been that good.

I think Ryan Blaney is gonna be tough to beat. He had a ton of speed this weekend, he’s been good at every race. Penske cars have typically been pretty good there from the 12 standpoint. The 22’s been hit or miss [and] the 2 [Austin Cindric], I can’t ever tell where they are as far as what they have going on.

Kevin Harvick said.

Joey Logano has won two races in the Next-Gen era, and Ryan Blaney won just once but was the contender for almost all of the race wins. With two wins to his name Christipher Bell will also be a strong contender.  Still, Kevin Harvick expects a dominant run from Ryan Blaney and sees him being the fastest driver of the day.

Team Penske, in general, has been really good at Phoenix. I believe Blaney’s going to lead the way from a speed standpoint, so I expect him to be in contention. I wouldn’t surprise me if Joey Logano shows up and is in contention but could run 15th, I don’t know.

Ryan Blaney wants more NASCAR-IndyCar double headers

One thing that makes this weekends at Phoenix special is the double header, with NASCAR and IndyCar event being in the city just like it was in Indianapolis back in 2023. Ryan Balney is a big fan of the double header, as it brings the whole Penske garage together.

Personally, yeah. I would love that. I think it’s great for just the racing fan. I never really understand like, I only watch NASCAR or IndyCar and vice versa, it’s like, it you’re a fan of racing, you’re a fan of racing.

Ryan Blaney said.

Furthermore, the 2023 Cup champion asserted that the event brings motorsports fans together and he loves that moment. He also cherishes the opportunity to hang out with his Penske IndyCar teammates and cheer for them from the stands.

This brings everybody together and now I think the crowd for whole days are going to be fantastic just because it’s a double header. Yeah, I would love to see more double headers just because I like hanging out with those guys and watching them out. It’s easier for me watch than on TV.

Ryan Blaney added.

The double headers are a win-win situation for both the premier series in USA and everyone will benefit having such weekends. They should be at least one double header every year as well as more cross promotions within the championships to grow motorsports in the state.
