The 2024 NASCAR Cup season was perceived by many as the best shot Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin has at winning the championship. He started the season on a high note winning three races in the first half of the 2024, and though his form has dropped in the second half, he was able to make it into the R-8.

Going into the Round of 8, Denny Hamlin has a lot of challenges ahead of him, as he and probably Joey Logano are two drivers, who produced really disappointing performance in last two post-season rounds. Now ex-Cup champion Kevin Harvick gave his verdict on the No:11 Toyota drivers performance, highlighting how luck played a crucial part in him making into penultimate playoff round.

They got lucky at Talladega, and you got to have some luck. They haven’t had a lot of great luck, so to get some good luck, I think put them on their way to making it to the third round here.

While further talking about the point, Harvick names Hamlin as the driver who is under the most pressure to perform in the last-8. They team needs work extra hard to make sure they maximize on points to make into the championship-4.

I think this gives them a reset, I think that they still have the most pressure on them to go out and perform and do the things that they need to do on tracks that they are going to be good for them.

Kevin Harvick names the track Tyler Reddick has best chance of winning in R-8

The 2014 Cup champion Kevin Harvick also talked about Denny Hamlin’s driver Tyler Reddick chance of making into the next round. He pointed out the first two races of the R-8 offers the No:45 Toyota driver the best shot at winning the race. Harvick sees Las Vegas and Homestead as the two tracks he can dominate.

I still think that Reddick can go out there are win one of these first two races. I don’t know that he’s going to go if he doesn’t put himself in a good position going into Martinsville, I think they’ll be in trouble. That’s not a track where we expect Tyler Reddick to go and dominate. …It really kind of leans into giving Tyler Reddick a good chance at Las Vegas and Homestead. They got to get it done in the first two races.

Kevin Harvick said.

If the TRD driver failed to win races or maximize on points before the cut-off race at Martinsville, then its game over for Tyler Reddick, according to Harvick. It will be interesting to see how the predictions about the TRD driver duo will playout.
