Joey Logano was the best driver of the year because he took a complete crap car with his team and turned it into a championship-winning car by the time they got to the end of the year. Every moment they had they capitalized on to put themselves in position to win a championship.

Kevin Harvick said via Happy hour podcast.

While further talking about the point, Kevin Harvick pointed out that he chose Logano as the best driver of the season over the likes of Kyle Larson because the No:5 team lacked the layers to win the title.

We believe he [Larson] is the best driver in the world, right? But there’s just more layers to winning championships than just being the best driver.

Kevin Harvick explains how Kyle Larson cost Ryan Blaney the title

The biggest championship threat Joey Logano had on Sunday was his own teammate, Ryan Blaney. According to Kevin Harvick one reason the No:12 Ford driver failed to catch up with the No:22 Ford was Kyle Larson making it hard for him to overtake the Chevy.

The biggest trouble that Blaney had was getting through the #5 car and the #24 car. He just held him up for a tremendous amount of time, and he lost so much ground to Logano that he was just never able to make it up.

The comments from Kevin Harvick explains how different factors helped Joey Logano to help to win the championship. The champion and his team deserve all the credit for their impressive triumph, as them peaking at the right moment earned him the title.
