The 2025 NASCAR Cup Season so far has been a nightmare for Alex Bowman, who is coming into the regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway in a serios situation. He is sitting P16 in the table, behind Tyler Reddick, and based on the results of the event might miss out on the playoffs or secure his spot.
Driving for Hendrick Motorsports Alex Bowman is expected to win his way into the playoffs, but unlike his teammates Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott and the regular season champion William Byron, he has failed to achieve the target. Missing out on the playoff this season might affect the future of the veteran with chevy giants. All this has inspired Kevin Harvick to make a bold assertion.
On the latest episode of the Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick asserted that the drivers in the bubble, going into Daytona, are the most miserable a racer can be in a season. They are coming into the weekend, with their chances for the championship chase being on the hands of others not just themselves.
It’s miserable. It’s the most miserable thing that you can possibly do all year, go to Daytona on the bubble. There’s not anything else that’s more miserable than that they who season.
Kevin Harvick said via Happy Hour podcast.
The fact that makes them more disappointed is the fact that the drivers that have gotten playoffs post ahead of them are not as consistently fast as him and got in only because they have the win. He is P9 in the points, ahead of the likes of Joey Logano, Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Josh Berry and Shane van Gisbergen, who are in the last-16.
There’s no way he’s not miserable this week because they know they’re fast enough to be in it. You got guys in it that are 25th, 26th in the points that have now won a race…
Kevin Harvick added.
Kevin Harvick explains how HMS might have felt about Alex Bowman’s position
In the same conversation, Kevin Harvick further explained how Bowman is feelings. The driver himself and everyone at the team knowns they are capable of winning and fumbled multiple opportunities. This miserable feeling won’t let them sleep and makes them second guess often.

I think they’ve run well enough to win races and haven’t capitalized on it. But he’s miserable. He’s not going to sleep all week; he’s going to second-guess everything that they’ve done.
Kevin Harvick said.
Further talking about the point, Harvick revealed what Hendrick Motorsports is feeling about one of their drivers being is a such a tricky situation. He believes they are experiencing the same miserable feeling Bowman is going through and doesn’t know how to get out on the winless streak that been haunting them.
The team is going to do the exact same thing, but once you get to the track, and you’re there, you’re like, ‘All right.’ It’s almost easier, because you know in his position, you know what to do.
Kevin Harvick added.
The No:48 crew and the driver should go all out for the race win, as pointing his way to the playoff will be a huge ask considering the significant points lead Tyler Reddick has over him. One his HMS teammates, especially William Byron who was the Daytona 500, can help Bowman by stealing a win and making the bubble race a points battle.
