Hailie Deegan was often considered a prodigy in the NASCAR world. The female driver was part of the Ford development program and was part of the Truck series before moving on to compete in the Xfinity championship. On the contrary, her dream of becoming a NASCAR Cup series driver came to an abrupt end as she was sacked by her former employer, AM Racing. Subsequently, Kevin Harvick pointed out the mistake which led to Deegan losing her seat.
Rumors started spreading across NASCAR garages regarding the unsustainable relationship between AM Racing and Hailie Deegan. The 22-year-old driver was in the Truck series for the previous three years but made no significant progress. Despite a lack of prior results, she made the jump to the Xfinity Series with AM Racing to prove her critics wrong.
However, this move left her in an even worse position as she was replaced in Chicago by Joey Logano, before formal breakage of ties. The No.15 driver was a part of the Toyota development program back in the day but shifted to Ford’s development program after the conclusion of the 2019 season.
I think that’s part of the problem. I don’t think that guidance and mentorship has been exactly what she needed for NASCAR. Think that the big mistake here was getting out of the Toyota development system. I don’t think Ford has a great development system as far as the things that they do from ARCA all the way until you get to Cup. I don’t even know if they have a development system.Kevin Harvick said on his Happy Hour podcast

Kevin Harvick criticized Deegan for switching camps to Ford. Furthermore, he lamented Ford’s development program for not being on par with Toyota’s or Chevrolet’s. Thus, he concluded that the former Xfinity driver is to blame for her own misery as she made a subpar career move.
So, you get put in these situations to where you don’t have the resources and things you need like Toyota does and Chevy doesn’t do it quite as well as Toyota does, but they do it better than Ford.Kevin Harvick added
Could a move to IndyCar be on the cards for Hailie Deegan?
After being sacked from her role at AM Racing, Deegan was left dejected. However, the female racer is quite young in her career and has a vast amount of alternatives to continue her racing dream.
On the other hand, after being ousted by her team, the 22-year-old was reportedly spotted at the IndyNxt race in Iowa. He then subsequently followed the championship and the Andretti outfit spooling up the rumors regarding her switch to the open-wheel series.
Despite being sacked by AM Racing, people across the NASCAR field have jumped in to support the young female driver during times of adversity.
She is also understood to continue her dream of being a racing driver at the apex of the racing ladder, thus, she would return to on-track racing soon with speculations ramping up around her next move.
