While the 2024 season had been filled with ups and downs for Tony Stewart, the feeling of becoming a father triumphed over it all. The 53-year-old and her wife Leah Pruett welcomed their son Dominic James Stewart over the past weekend. This flooded the Stewart family with congratulatory messages, including SHR’s former driver Kevin Harvick, who shared a wholesome yet hilarious message for his former team boss.

Tony Stewart and Leah Pruett have been married for three years and had a similar passion for racing. With the couple welcoming their firstborn child over on Saturday, SHR’s former driver and championship winner Kevin Harvick pooled in to congratulate the pair on the birth of Dominic James Stewart.

However, Harvick’s way of congratulating Stewart on entering fatherhood carried a hilarious punch, as he expressed his eagerness to visit the 53-year-old soon and meet the child himself.

And oh, congratulations, daddy Smoke. Tony Stewart and his wife, Leah, had their baby over the weekend… I know mom’s going to be a great mom and I know Tony’s going to be a great dad, but I just have to visually see him hold the baby and I just want to be there long enough for it to crap its pants and he has to change the diaper. And if we can somehow convince him to go in the car and we can take the baby somewhere by ourselves and it happened in the car, it would be way better. … What a fantastic scenario for him to be a dad is something I’m super excited about, so congratulations to Tony and Leah.

On the other hand, the ex-Cup Series champion was present at the Ponoma racing strip when his baby was born for the NHRA weekend. His happiness would have increased multiple folds as he was also announced the NHRA Rookie of the Year over the weekend, while he was overwhelmed with emotions of becoming a father the earlier night.

Tony Stewart made his feelings clear on why he didn’t name his son after him

Though Dominic James Stewart is a wonderful name, some fans expected that the four-time Cup Series champion should have followed in line with the trend of naming their children after them. However, Stewart was not too keen on naming his newborn son Anthony Wayne Stewart Jr.

Subsequently, the SHR co-owner dwelled deeper into the reason why he didn’t name the kid after himself.

Absolutely not! There was no way in hell I would give a kid a strike right out the gate like that.

On the other hand, Stewart has been enjoying the early moments of his fatherhood with fellow close ones. He would be ecstatic to meet Harvick soon as the pair have a warm friendship together and celebrate the birth of his son.

Meanwhile, Harvick has been going on a rampage as he recently shelled out his unofficial 2024 NASCAR season awards. He had named reigning champion Joey Logano as the driver of the year while taking a jibe at other drivers for various instances and continue doing on his analyst role.
