Kevin Harvick is a NASCAR veteran. The former Cup Series champion witnessed everything in the sport during his long and illustrious career. The 49-year-old recently recalled having a special fund to deal with a problem that the field currently faces with Carson Hocevar.
Carson Hocevar has made headlines in the past few weeks, all for the wrong reasons. The Spire Motorsports driver is engaged in a beef with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Matters have only escalated with Hocevar colliding with the Hyak Motorsports driver on more than one occasion. So much so, that Stenhouse has resorted to threats towards his rival.
Kevin Harvick reckoned that he faced a similar situation back in the day when Joey Logano was making his name in the Cup Series. An inexperienced Logano was creating trouble with several incidents across the field. This infuriated Harvick, who had had enough of the chaos on-track. So much so, that 49-year-old decided to give the then-JGR driver a taste of his own medicine.
Logano was at that Hocevar stage, where it was just one of those things where he was always into it with somebody. That was just one of those days where I was in that Stenhouse position, it was like, ‘You’re not chopping me off today. I’m tired of racing you, and I’m spinning your *** out right now.’
Kevin Harvick said on the Happy Hour podcast.
While such antics might feel good in the short-term, drivers will face penalties for intentionally causing incidents. However, Kevin Harvick insisted that one should rather go with their gut feeling and not pay attention to what happens after the race. Harvick claimed that he created a $50,000 slush fund just to pay fines to NASCAR in such situations.
You just have to not worry about the penalties. You just have to follow your gut and just go for it. If you feel like jumping over a car or causing some chaos, you just have to do it. I used to have slush fund. I set $50,000 a year aside for fines.

Kevin Harvick predicts Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s revenge on Carson Hocevar
Fans hoped that things would calm down between Carson Hocevar and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. after their first clash. With the Spire Motorsports driver even claiming that he would have a discussion to sort things out. However, the incident in Mexico only made matters worse. Now, Kevin Harvick is confident that Stenhouse Jr. would have already plotted his revenge.

The 49-year-old speculated that the Hyak Motorsports driver will wait for the right moment to crush Hocevar’s race, possibly when he was leading the race. If the 22-year-old came to lap Stenhouse on-track, Kevin Harvick predicted that the latter would not hold back, and potentially slam his car into his rival.
It’s going to be a day where he’s leading (the race) and he’s coming to lap Stenhouse and Stenhouse is going to wipe his *** out. That’s how these things work, especially when you get to having two or three of them.
Kevin Harvick noted.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. remains furious with Carson Hocevar due to their on-track clashes. The 37-year-old might already be thinking in the lines of Kevin Harvick. Though, Stenhouse knows when not to cross the line, considering his experience in NASCAR, he might really not hold back if things get worse again.
