The whole community including his big brother Kurt Busch hasn’t found a way to cope with the death.
The 2004 Champion sat down with TODAY’s Craig Melvin and shared details of the ex-RCR drivers’ final days. He revealed how he was at the hospital all the time, standing beside his brother and family, praying for a turn around. He also revealed some of his final words to his brother before the unfear death was.
I was there at the hospital. I was there all day. Hoping, praying. Hoping for a turnaround… I got you, man. C’mon. I got you. I’ve got you, c’mon, be strong. Just wasn’t fair
Kurt Busch said about brother’s death.
Another key and heartbreaking factor that Kurt Busch revealed was how his and Kyle Busch’s father reacted to the hospitalization. He revealed how Tom Busch refused to come and see his younger son in the bed, as he wanted to remember the best version of his child.
(Dad) wanted to remember him in the way he wanted to remember him.
Kurt Busch told TODAY’s Craig Melvin.
The veteran later shifted the conversation into what he is going to miss the most about his brother. He highlighted how they were carbon copies of each other on the race track and admitted that he really misses how the used to talk to each other on the track, without speaking,
I loved, on track, him and I were carbon copies of each other. I just miss the on-track comradery. We could speak on track without saying a word… I miss the words that we never spoke to each other and the vibe that we had on track.
Kurt Busch asserted.
Kurt Busch Hails Nephew Brexton Busch’s Racing Maturity Beyond his age
The veteran also talked about, Brexton Busch, his nephew who is now under his mentorship. The 12-year-old has already started racing again and insisted that the third-generation racer has the potential to be a racing superstar like his dad. The maturity he shows at the very young age is a key factor that helps him standout from the rest.

He’s a prodigy. He was on the gas even before all of this. He can be a big star in the world of motorsports. He’s 11, but he’s already racing like an 18-year-old, so it’s time to be around a bit more.
Kurt Busch said about his nephew.
The comments from the veteran are on point and seems rational. He is going to invest more of his time in his nephew’s racing ventures in the coming years and that would play a key role in Brexton’s future. It would be interesting to see how everything us going to playout for the Busch’s in the coming days.
