The 2025 NASCAR Cup season so far has witnessed the dominance of Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell. The youngster duo has clearly been the best of the garage this season, with the former leading the championship table while the latter has won three races from five events this year.

William Byron is leading the race taking advantage of him impressive consistency while Christopher Bell took advantage of his skills and luck to succeed. The duo has been among the best racers in the Next-Gen era, performing better than their veteran teammates like Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. This makes many racers feels jealous, including veteran Kyle Busch.

The No:8 Richard Childress Racing Chevy driver in a recent interview with 2014 Cup winner Kevin Harvick admitted the existence of the jealousy factor as these racers has been performing in a better level than him, owing to having the best cars. He wants to fight for the championship-4 spot like Byron and Bell, as he used to do in his prime JGR days.

Honestly, it makes you feel a little bit of that jealousy factor. Like, man! I want to be there. I want to be racing with those guys. Challenging with those guys being in that final four that I remember being a part of five years in a row. I would love to and want to get back to that point.

Kyle Busch expects Homestead to change tone of his 2025 season

One of the major factors behind this jealousy is the fact that, when the duo has been wining left and right, Busch hasn’t won a race in over two years. Atter the first half of 2023 season, where RCR won three races, the veteran hasn’t produced any significant run.

The cars not being on the level it needs to be and consistent mistakes made by Busch has been the reasons for the poor streak. The future Hall of Famer is desperate to make sure the winless run comes to an end sooner than later.

This Sunday’s race at Homestead Miami might be the best place to start the redemption arc as it’s a track where he has been solid over the years. Him winning two of his championships there and securing multiple race wins in the past gives him an edge, which he should take full advantage of.

Kyle Busch believes RCR is in much better form

One factor that gives him confidence going into the race is the belief that his team is performing better this year and is in a much better form that last season. He credited the RCR crew and ECR engines for the success, as well as the new car setups and software.

Much better than we were last year…I would give big Kudos to everyone at RCR, ECR Engines, everyone that’s been working really, really hard over the offseason and the new people that have kind of come in to help us out with car builds at the shop to different steups that we’ve run at the racetracks to the strategies and the software…

Kyle Busch said.

The Richard Childress Racing team seems to be top form as Kyle Busch highlighted and it would be interesting to see if the veteran can make things happen this Sunday, if he is successful, it might end up being the game changer the team needs.
