The Brickyard 400 on last Sunday was an dramatic event with drivers going all out on the final stages of the race that went to overtime. This resulted in many drivers including 23XI Racing Bubba Wallace running out of fuel. But he didn’t get stranded on the track as he got help from an old Toyota teammate.
Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch pushed Bubba Wallace’s 23XI Racing Toyota Camry back to the pit-road. They were TRD teammates when the two times Cup champion was driving for Joe Gibbs Racing. After they got onto the pit-road, Wallace thanked the veteran by giving him a fist-bump for the help.

Both drivers had dramatic, but different race on Sunday. Busch was the unlucky one of the two, as he got wrecked with just five laps left in the race while running inside the top-10. It was a huge, missed opportunity for the star driver, who has been seeking redemption for the disappointing races he has had so far this season.
On the other hand, for Bubba Wallace it was a great day behind the wheels as he secured a much-needed P5 finish, increasing his chance of closing down on Ross Chastain to secure the final spot in the playoffs. He was really happy with the result and is confident going into the remaining races of the year.
Bubba Wallace is in a better mood after oval return
The Toyota driver was really happy to get a rood result as the last few weeks has been disappointing for him. He appreciated his crew for their support and pointed out that he is in a good mood after having a good points day.
I appreciate Bootie (Barker, crew chief) and the gang for just giving me a car to work with. The No. 23 U.S. Air Force Toyota Camry was really, really fast. It felt really good. After a few laps, I was like, I don’t know what we have – but it is good to be back on the oval. The finish is making my mood better, but it was really difficult to pass. All-in-all, a good day. A good points day.Bubba Wallace said.
Both Kyle Busch and bubba Wallace needs the two weeks break starting this week. They can use to recharge and learn from the mistakes made this year, to bounce back strong for the last 14 races of the 2024 season.
