When Kyle Busch joined RCR after a tough 2022 season with Joe Gibbs Racing, everyone was convinced he will lead the team back to its glory days. After promising start that saw him win three races in the first half of 2023, the veteran performance dried up. Since then, both him and the No:8 team has been on a downward spiral ending 2024 and 2025 season’s winless.

It’s not just Kyle Busch, as his teammate Austin Dillon has also been underperforming. Other than wins at Richmond in in the last two seasons, the 2018 Daytona 500 champion hasn’t shown any signs progress. The team has previously admitted that got the car development wrong and with the 2026 season ready to start with Daytona 500, hasn’t shown any promises of redemption.

Ahead of the Daytona weekend, the two times Cup Series champion was asked about this uncertainty by Fox Sports journalist Bob Pockrass. He insisted that he isn’t worried about at the moment as the car’s performance isn’t something that is on his control and he expect the God to take care of him at RCR.

I don’t really worry. It’s kind of is what it is. I have always told Samantha [his wife] the same thing. You can’t worry about things you can’t control. All you can do is go out there and do what you can do, and the good lord will take care of the rest.

Kyle Busch told Bob Pockrass.

Kyle Busch is set to race in eight Truck races with Spire Motorsports

The champion driver will start his preparation for the redemption season, with eight selected appearances in the Truck Series races in 2026. He will run all of the eight events he is allowed to race, starting at Atlanta and the veteran is excited about the opportunity.

I’m excited that after NASCAR amended the ‘Kyle Busch rule’ that I was able to work it out with Jeff (Dickerson, owner), Brian (Pattie, crew chief), and everyone at Spire Motorsports to increase my race count up to the eight that are allowed this year.

Kyle Busch said in a press release.

Furthermore, the veteran racer pointed out that the schedule features races where he has already won and will give him better opportunities to increase his 67-race win record in the third division. His primary goal is to win his maiden race since the series changed title sponsorship to CRAFTSMAN.

With the schedule we’ve put together, the majority of the tracks I’m fortunate to have a lot of wins at, but there are also a few that I haven’t won at yet in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series and will be looking to add to the win list.

Kyle Busch added.

The veteran will be sponsored by HMS owner Rick Hendrick’s HendrickCars.com, and he is excited about getting the victory lane for them. Busch started his journey with HMS before moving to JGR and creating NASCAR history.

I’m looking forward to going out each and every race, giving it all we can to get Mr. H, HendrickCars.com, and the other partners that will fill out the schedule to Victory Lane.

Kyle Busch asserted.

The comments from the veteran racer seems to be on point and rational. The extra runs in the Truck series will help him to make history in the lower division and will also help him to navigate the tough battles ahead of him in the premier division.
