Formula 1 and NASCAR are generally considered to be the top motorsports compared to others. Both these sports have cars that run at extreme speeds, but have a great difference in their viewership. Still, a majority of the drivers of both hold a deep sense of respect for one another and do not clash in opinions often. The two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch made a shocking and hilarious remark on the pinnacle of motorsport.

Kyle Busch has not made any appearances in Formula 1 and has expressed some controversial and critical opinions on the sport in the past. The 39-year-old came close to experiencing the fastest single-seater back in 2008 after testing for Toyota’s TF108 F1 car. However, Busch had to cancel the visit back then due to issues with the NASCAR banquet. Still, he remains a strong critic and refuses to change his opinion.

Now, in a recent podcast, Kyle Busch has shared his blunt opinion on Formula 1 and the glamor behind the sport. Busch was questioned regarding his thoughts on the sport and it giving off ‘Princess vibes’. The two-time champion accepted that thought and likened the one-seater racing category to going to the Super Bowl. The 39-year-old highlighted that the fans visited F1 races just to be seen, much like the Super Bowl, and weren’t present to enjoy the racing.

It’s kind of like going to the Super Bowl. But just for the parties. You’re not there for the game. You just want to be seen,

Kyle Busch said on the Bert Kreischer’s cooking show.

Busch further fired shots at Formula 1 and its culture that did not represent true racing action for the fans. The American asserted that the motorsport gave him Kentucky Derby vibes. The 39-year-old insisted that the girls with hats and dresses of the Derby racing format were too similar to F1. The No. 8 driver further joked that the pinnacle of motorsport gave off princess vibes to him, and hence he did not exactly like the sport much.

F1 reminds me a little bit of the Kentucky Derby. All the girls in hats and dresses. You know? Princess vibes.

Kyle Busch added.

Kyle Busch refuses to race in Formula 1 in the near future

Kyle Busch has achieved a great career in NASCAR despite his recent ongoing 66-race winless streak. The 39-year-old could have tried his hand at Formula 1 and become successful in it if he had tried out for it. However, Busch now rejects wanting to try out the sport, believing that his age was one of the primary factors. Moreover, the American highlighted that he was too built to race in F1 as a majority of the drivers in it were built much smaller.

Busch emphasized that he is pushing 40 years of age and might be out of his prime racing years. Although Formula 1’s current oldest driver on the grid is 43 years old (Fernando Alonso), the American does not want to enter the sport this late.

The Richard Childress Racing star reckoned that the time had passed now, but he could’ve excelled if he had participated a couple of years earlier. He reiterated that he was very good at racing back then and could have made it to the top but believed his size to still an issue.

I’m turning 40, So the time might’ve passed. But in my prime, around 33 to 38, I probably could’ve done it… I was good. I could have done it. I’m just too big.

Kyle Busch noted.

Both NASCAR and Formula 1 are great sports with their own unique pros and cons. The single-seater category is trying to merge the fans of both motorsports with increased American involvement. Hence, time will tell about how the people welcome this new era of change in motorsport in their country. Kyle Busch might change his opinion after learning about the sport on a deeper level and maybe trying his hand at the fastest single-seater chassis.
