Almost everyone in the NASCAR community has one answer when asked which is the most prestigious race win in stock car racing? the Daytona 500. But with luck becoming a more significant factor over skill with evolution of cars, some suggest the event might’ve lost some of the prestige. One of them is Tony Stewrat, who has never won the crown jewel race in his career and once claimed he is ready to give up one of his three championship for a Daytona ring.
When asked his opinion on the same, reigning champion Kyle Larson refused back the veteran. He asserted that the event is still prestigious and will always going to be admired. This comes from driver who just like Tony Stewart is yet to win the iconic event. The No:5 Chevy racer believes it would an awesome feeling if he ever wins at the Florida beachside track.
I mean, it’s always going to be prestigious and feel prestigious. I’ve never won the race. I’ve never even finished top-five, so I don’t know what the feeling is like. I would imagine the feeling of winning is still going to be extremely massive, if it ever happens.

Further talking about the point, Kyle Larson pointed out that Tony Stewart does have some point about how the race victor doesn’t get the same respect as they would have in the past. It is because of the fact that almost all of the recent races at the venue saw multi-car pile-up, overtime finishes with luck or fuel saving being the deciding facrot.
But in a way, not that I fully agree with those comments, and I don’t know if that’s exactly how they’re meant to be anyways, but it is difficult to get really excited about the winner or who’s won when usually there’s a 20-car pile-up and the guy running towards the back squeaks through, and then misses another wreck later and wins.

Kyle Larson shared his philosophy behind coaching his children
In the same media session, Kyle Larson was asked about how he coaches his children who already arcing in junior divisions. He highlighted how he always tries to make sure that he never over-coach as he realized the less, he talks the better the kids perform.

It’s tough, for sure (to not over-coach), I think I’ve realized at this point that, which makes it even tougher to just keep your mouth shut, but I feel like my kids do better when I don’t talk to them.

The veteran admitted that he has a habit of making thing complicated by being too detail oriented. This makes it tough for the kids as while trying to execute Larson, plan they misses out on opportunity learn reactive racing.
I think I get a little too detailed, and then I think they’re probably out there trying to do what I say, and they’re thinking too much rather than reacting to what’s going on the track.
Kyle Larson added.
The veteran has previously made similar comments, as he highlighted how he is less hands on as a racer dad unlike Kyle Busch or Kevin Harvick. It would be interesting to see which teaching method going to make the best racing prodigies.
