Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar has yet again become the primary topic discussion in the NASCAR community for the all the wrong reason. He is being criticized by many owing to the run-ins recently and how he is yet to master his aggressive racing style. The most recent racer to call him out is Kyle Larson.

On his latest appearance on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, the Hendrick Motorsports drover called out the Spire Motorsports drivers’ immaturity.  He highlighted how the racer is really talented, but doesn’t show the control someone of his age should show on the NASCAR Cup level on the race track.

Hocevar, honestly, I respect his talent.  I think he’s extremely good and fast. I like his aggressiveness, even, but I would say it goes overboard a lot of the time. For me, he’s young, but he’s more immature than what his age is.

Further talking on the podcast Kyle Larson, the two times Cup Series champion, pointed out that he often gets a feeling that Carson Hocevar is like an eight year, owing to his antics during twitch streams. The defending champion hates to see the driver that is supposed to the be future of the sport act like a child.

I have his little Twitch stream thing pop up on my Instagram feed every now and then, and I’m like, ‘Dude, this guy is like an 8-year-old.’…That’s where I lose a little bit of respect because I’m like, ‘This guy could be the future of our sport, and he’s acting like he’s 8 years old.

Kyle Larson asks Carson Hocevar to dial down his aggression.

Later in the same conversation the No:5 Chevy driver shared his thoughts on the driver’s impressive season that already saw him win at Talladega. He is also consistently beating veteran teammates Daniel Suarez and Michael McDowell. This makes Larson believe that the No:77 driver is going to win a lot of races.

He’s phenomenal. He outruns his teammates by a lot every week. He’s really good. He’s going to be around for a long time, and he’s going to win a lot of races.

Kyle Larson said.

But he won’t be able to win multiple race a season, if he can’t learn from the mistake and race cleaner that he is doing at the moment. He needs to dial down his aggression and continue developing his race craft as he has been doing for years.

I think once he definitely harnesses himself some and kinda dials back that aggression a little bit, and manages a race better, I think he can win multiple races a year, and he’s close to that.  He’s definitely gotten better over the last couple of years.

Kyle Larson added.

The comments from the veteran shows how the whole community knows Hocevar is going to be the face of the sport in the coming years, hence needs to become a better driver. If he cant win multiple races a season with less drama and more domination, it would be hard to become the superstar he is predicted to be.
