The 2025 racing season has started with a bang for the 2021 NASCAR cup series champion Kyle Larson. He won his third Chilly Bowl Nationals on Sunday, etching his name in the midget arcing history. Larson is the most successful driver in the race’s history with three golden drillers, alongside Christopher Bell, who also has three wins.

Kyle Larson came into the event with a lot of determination and the goal of getting revenge on Christopher Bell, who won the Tulsa Shootout, beating him. After the triumph, he explained how much each of the three wins mean to him and the three different emotions they represent, as it coincided with three vastly different phases of his career.

All three (Chili Bowl wins) are different. The first one was just a big hurdle to get over mentally I feel like to get a win in here finally. Then the next year meant a lot because we didn’t have the best car that race but we played defense really well.

He sees the latest victory as pretty cool, with the track offering him extra challenge unlike in the past for the whole 40 laps. Outperforming fellow NASCAR racers like Kyle Busch, Ty Gibbs, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Josh Bilicki and JJ Yaley, alongside the midget racing legends would have also made it special.

Tonight, the track was challenging to make a lap by yourself, so when you can win a 40-lap race on a track that challenging, it’s pretty cool.

Kyle Larson explains how tough the victory was at

While talking about how he secured the win, Kyle Larson admitted that the caution flag helped him to be more comfortable in the race and win. He pointed out that the track being little dirtier was a momentum killer, but was able to find his groove in order to succeed.

The yellows definitely helped. I think it just kind of brings the pace down. People get kind of moving around, track is a litter dirtier, you get out of your rhythm. So yeah, it helped me. We just found a way, which was nice, but we’ve still got to get a lot better for Saturday.

The victory has given Kyle Larson more confidence going into the 2025 NASCAR Cup season. He will be looking forward to building on this success in the Cup and Hendrick Motorsports fans can expect another impressive season from the champion racer.
