The final laps of the second race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup season witnessed Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell fighting hard for the win. The JGR driver won the race, as he was ahead when the caution flag came out. It marked another impressive dual by Bell-Larson duo, which the racing fans in USA has been cherishing for over a decade.

Their first major duel occurred in the Sprint car racing scene more than a decade ago and since then they have raced each other in almost all championships in the NASCAR pyramid before making into the elite division. Recently Kyle Larson recalled the first time he raced Bell, as they got together in the TRD program in KKM back in 2013.

I ran for Keith and Pete with the TRD program at KKM full-time in 2011. A lot in 2012. And then, he [Bell] came in in the middle of 2012 or 2013.

Kyle Larson told NASCAR’s Stacking Pennies Podcast.

He then revealed how from the start Bell started to get the best out of him, often winning races keeping him at P2 and killing Larson’s ego. Losing to the current Toyota driver on the same equipment in the events such as Chili Bowl was really disappointing for him.

That’s when he started kicking my ass all the time, which really killed my ego for a long time because we were on the same equipment, and he was just winning everything. I’m running second to him every night, every year, at the Chili Bowl.

Christopher Bell gives his verdict on NASCAR Mexico Cup racetrack

The 2025 NASCAR Cup season will mark the return of the sport to one of the biggest motorsports markets in the world, Mexico City. The iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodrígue, that hosts the F1 Mexican GP, will host the Cup series race.

Chrsitopher Bell alongside Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suárez, and Chase Elliott recently visited the track, as part of a promotional event. The No:20 Toyota driver shared his feelings, admitting he impressed with track as its one of the biggest circuits they have competed in.

I was just simply impressed by the facility, the amount of grandstands that the facility has is second to none — probably bigger than any other circuit we’ve competed in.

Christopher Bell said.

The comments from the Joe Gibbs Racing driver shows the whole racing community is excited about what the Mexican track can offer the sport for the upcoming event. Hence it would be interesting to see how impressive the race product will be on June 16.
