Kyle Larson has been soaring in headlines recently. The 32-year-old was involved in a controversial debate regarding being the best driver in the world with F1 champion Max Verstappen and then lost the regular season championship in Darlington to Tyler Reddick. Recently his wife Katelyn Larson had an interview with Kenny Wallace where she revealed that though her husband might be the best driver on track, he is one of the worst drivers on street roads.

Racing has been in the DNA of Kyle Larson. The Californian made his racing debut in karts at the age of seven and has never looked back since then. Subsequently, due to his lustrous talent, multiple teams remained fond of him throughout his racing career, and he then decided to reside with Hendrick Motorsports, where he won his maiden Cup Series championship.

The No.5 driver has been lighting up the track and came within a point of winning the current regular season championship. His spouse, Katelyn Larson, described how Larson is one of the worst drivers while driving around town.

The 33-year-old revealed that his husband is used to driving road cars with a two-foot technique instead of single-foot driving. This habit has carried over from racing, and the former Cup Series champion is always in race mode as he doesn’t spare an inch in the braking distance, which frustrates his wife.

He[Kyle Larson] drives with two feet and he always wants to hit his marks so if it's a red light in front of us, he drives to the line and then hits the brake. Like my gosh, can we just ease off a little, but he's always in race mode apparently.

Kyle Larson reveals that he is weary about the playoffs

Larson bemoaned his regular season title loss after the Southern 500 as Tyler Reddick pipped him by a solitary point. Despite his grief, the No.5 driver stands at the top of the standings for the playoff rounds as he won the most races in the current season.

However, the 32-year-old still finds himself to be nervous as the playoffs are set to begin this weekend in Atlanta. He has accumulated a haul of bonus points but fears a few bad races could end his championship rut.

You're obviously nervous of the first round a little bit but we have a lot of bonus points, which is nice. So yeah hopefully we don't need to rely on it. That's why you work so hard throughout the year to win stages, and win races, just to position yourself higher in the points for playoffs.

The HM driver is still the favorite for the Cup Series title. Thus, he would be hoping to win his second Cup Series title and match Kyle Busch to be the most successful Cup Series(active) driver.
