In every generation there are some athletes in the sport that are without out a doubt a class apart from their peers but never gets to taste the ultimate prize, the championship. It’s same with NASCAR as there are some mega-stars in the sport that failed to win the title, despite producing dominant runs week in and week out.

Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin, who has won over 50 Cup race, currently holds this unfortunate title in the top division. When it comes to the second tier, the Xfinity series, there are few candidates with JR Motorsports’, team owner by Dale Earnhardt Jr., driver Justin Allgaier according to ex-racer Kyle Petty. He made the asserting during last Saturday’s Xfinity event at Kansas.

Kyle Petty says Justin Allgaier is “almost” the Denny Hamlin of the Xfinity Series, since he’s always in the championship discussion and can’t seal the deal.

Kyle Petty is on the mark with the comes, as just like Denny Hamlin, Justin Allgaier is a veteran who can’t take that one last step. Both of them are top-15 in all time win list in the respective series and has been finishing inside the top-5 in the championship for almost every time the last five years. 2024 season also seem to be a year this pattern will repeat for the duo.

NASCAR insider feels Denny Hamlin can win the 2024 title

In the recent episode of the Teardown Podcast, NASCAR Journalist Jordan Bianchi, made some arguments in favour Hamlin surviving the poor trend and winning the title. He pointed that despite the struggles and mistakes, the No:11 team are still among the best there is, making them strong enough to win the championship.

Are they snakebit a little bit? Absolutely. Have they not had the finishes that correspond with their speed? Yes. Are they to the level they were at — the same level they were at earlier in the year? No, they’re not. But this still, this team, is still so good, and while consistency is great, and you can point your way to the next round, this team is also good enough to win a race, and if that’s what they need to do, I feel like they’re going to do it.

Jordan Bianchi said.

The 2024 season as suggested by Bianchi, has been a mixed bag for Denny Hamlin but still the performance was on an elite level. The only driver who has an advantage over the No:11 team currently is Kyle Larson and rest of the drivers still has more to do match them.
