‘A cut and polished diamond,’ NASCAR Twitter reacts to Daniel Suarez’s first career Cup Race win as he held Chris Buescher to win in Sonoma
Daniel Suarez wins Sonoma Cup race
Daniel Suarez made history last Sunday at Sonoma Raceway as he held back his RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher who was going throughout the final stage to secure the first NASCAR cup race win for the driver who was born in Mexico. May 12 was the day where finally the racing gods shined their lights on the 30 years old as he was able to overcome the bad luck which has been standing between him and a win though out this season.
The 2016 Xfinity series champion, who is among one of the most successful graduates of NASCAR’s Drive for Diversity initiative had to fight for five years and 195 cup races to see his dream of winning a cup race successful. The 2022 season so far has been full of unfortunate results for Suarez as with the same level of performance and speed he had compared to his teammate Ross Chastain, who won two races this season so far, the bad luck came in front of every time he was upfront until now.
With the Ford Mustangs dominating the whole race as they secured all the 5 spots upfront than the P1 at the finish line, Daniel Suarez had to be at his best to secure the win in his No:99 Trackhouse Racing Chevy Camaro ZL1 and he was at his best throughout the race. The exit of pole holder Kyle Larson from the race also made Suarez’s efforts for a win easier.
How NASCAR Twitter reacted to Daniel Suarez’s win
NASCAR twitter was on overloaded with Joy and excitement about the Mexican’s long-awaited win as they came out congratulating and joining their ‘amigo’ for his first career win. The Mexican NASCAR fans were ecstatic about their fellow countryman conquering the premier stock racing event while the Trackhouse fans in us also didn’t hide their excitement. There were also fans who were happy to see yet another new face in the podium as there has been some repeated winners in the recent races.
