Alex Bowman wants to race against 7-times Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton
Former F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, who ran for Trackhouse Racing in 2022, was the most recent F1 driver to race in NASCAR.

NASCAR and Formula 1 are the pinnacles of respective racing disciplines. Though the driver from each championship is among the most talented athletes in motorsports, only a handful of drivers have raced in both series. Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya is the only driver with reasonable success in both series.
Unlike Formula 1 races, NASCAR allows open entries to the races. The tight schedule of F1 drivers constrains them from exploring this opportunity until they are without a full-time F1 seat. It is doubtful that drivers such as seven times world champion Lewis Hamilton or reigning champion Max Verstappen will have a NASCAR entry unless they are retired.
In a recent interview with The Athletic, Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman who drives the iconic No:48 car, revealed that he wishes to race against Lewis Hamilton. The Mercedes driver is someone Bowman admires the same way he admires his former teammate and Cup legend, Jimmie Johnson.
“It’d be cool to go against Jimmie (Johnson). He has meant so much to me in my career, and in different types of cars and racetracks we’ve never been on, it’d be really cool. That or Lewis Hamilton, obviously — the results speak for themselves. He’s phenomenal. So that’d be really cool,” said Alex Bowman.

Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo can potentially make his NASCAR debut in 2023
Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most renowned F1 drivers in the US. Known for his extravagant persona, the Australian has been the main character of Drive to Survive, the Netflix doc-series that helped to increase F1’s popularity in America.
The Red Bull Racing’s reserve driver would be off duty most of the 2023 season and has the perfect opportunity to explore other racing series during the one-year break. He has been an admirer of NASCAR, as the sports have a good fan following in Australia.
The root of NASCAR for Ricciardo can be a road course race with Trackhouse Racing Project 91 as Raikkonen. The driver’s popularity would benefit Trackhouse in their brand expansion, and the driver still being in his prime physical condition will also help them have a better race output. He also brings a ton of entertainment value to the table.
