Kyle Larson has produced his best run of the 2022 season at Homestead. The 2021 cup champion won the second race of Round 8, dominating most of the proceedings. This was Larson’s third race win of the season.

Kyle Larson was already knocked out of the playoffs after failing secure enough points in Round 12. He is now fighting for the constructor’s title. He led 199 of the 267 laps of the race to win at Miami. He cruised to a win in the final 22 laps after a pit road spin took Martin Truex Jr. out of the fight.

Championship Chaser Ross Chastain finished the race at P2 ahead of AJ Allmendinger, while Austin Dillon and Brad Keselowski secured the remaining top 5 spots respectively. This was Chastain’s second P2 finish in the playoff quarterfinals. He finished p2 behind Joey Logano last Sunday at Vegas.

The win is significant to Kyle Larson who underachieved this season. Beyond just cementing his constructor’s title chance, the win will also act as a morale booster for the No:5 and the HMS garage going to Martinsville.

Fans had a set of mixed reactions to Larson’s win. Some fans called out Larson’s win that came after he spun Truex in the pit road. There were disappointed by the fact that all three wins of Larson this season had some controversies behind them. There were also comments and Trolls aimed at Bubba Wallace as the Las Vegas incident remains a conversation piece.
