The clutch form wasn’t enough for birthday boy Bubba Wallace at ROVAL on Sunday, as he failed to secure a solid finish to make it out of R-12. He was eliminated from the second round of the post-season alongside RCR’s Kyle Busch, Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain, and RFK Racing’s Brad Keselowski.

Wallace had the best start he ever had in Superspeedway. He started the race on P4 and secured a P2 finish on stage one behind his teammate Tyler Reddick. But unlike the No:45 Toyota Camry driver, he failed to get through the traffic and get back up front. But 23XI Racing still can be cheerful, as one of their drivers will continue his chase for the title. Wallace didn’t mince his words about the disappointing end to the race in the post-race interview.

Texas. That’s what I thought about after we got spun there. You know this weekend was incredible. Just from the effort, from the team, from myself, it’s just all clicking, right? It felt really good to be competitive and run up front and pass cars on road courses and not be passed; there’s a lot to look at,” Wallace told NBC (H&T: ProTalk).

Wallace confirmed that he could’ve done a better job at ROVAL to avoid elimination. He added, “But what I analyze is, what could I have done to not be in that situation? Could I have been faster around another car? Gotta be better to not put yourself where you’re racing around there with squirrels.”

Bubba Wallace said that he is still happy for the season and is pumped to see what the remainder of the year has in store for him. He said, “It’s what it is. Just didn’t have enough, and it wasn’t in the cards, and I guess that’s what 30 is. I’m not mad, I’m happy for the team, I’m pumped for our season, it’s not over with yet.”

He pointed out that there are still four races left in the season to secure that much-awaited victory. Wallace added, “I’m really excited for next week and Homestead, Martinsville – Phoenix? Eh. I might just go on vacation then. We still got four races to go out and do it. So, proud of the team, I appreciate that.”
