Bubba Wallace missed the Miami cup race due to a one-race suspension. NASCAR suspended the 23X1 Racing driver for his reckless retaliation against Kyle Larson at Las Vegas . He wrecked Larson from the right rear and later physically confronted him.
Wallace faced harsh criticism from the NASCAR community. He was suspended for one race. The severity of the penalty was subjected to criticism as well. A majority of the racing community labeled the penalty inadequate. Bubba served the suspension and is back on track for the Martinsville cup race.
Bubba Wallace accepted his penalty and the repercussions he paid for the aggression. He has learned a few things in the off week. Wallace wants NASCAR to be consistent with decision-making on such incidents, as he wasn’t the first driver to retaliate this year. He expects the organization to take action regardless of the nature of tracks.
“I totally accept the penalty and the repercussions that came from my actions…I’ve definitely learned my lesson, but we have to be consistent with this, no matter if it’s here at Martinsville or Daytona, or Talladega. We’ve got to keep it consistent across all the boards and all the series,” Bubba Wallace said at Martinsville.
Bubba Wallace isn’t proud of his action and revealed he had a productive conversation with Kyle Larson

Bubba Wallace acknowledged that he has learned that it’s essential to think before acting. He added that he shouldn’t have done things in the heat of the moment. Wallace said that he should have handled things way differently.
“What have I learned? You have to think before you do, and in this sport, it’s the heat of the moment type of thing that gets you. So, seeing that, going back and looking from a 10,000-foot view, I definitely could have handled everything way differently and been in a different spot,” Bubba Wallace said.
Bubba Wallace is not proud of his actions that put his team and sponsors in a bad light. He said, “I put myself in a bad light. I put our team in a bad light. Our sponsors. It’s something I’m not proud of but moving on, moving forward. Not allowed to make that mistake again,”.
Bubba Wallace had a productive conversation with Kyle Larson regarding the incident. He said, “And for the record, I have talked to Larson. We had a great conversation this week, and I think the best thing for us is we both understand where our frustrations were and [know] moving forward on how we both can handle those situations better,”.
