Bubba Wallace married his long-time Girlfriend Amanda Carter on December 31, 2022, on New Year’s Eve in a special event in Charlotte, North Carolina. Carter and Wallace have been dating for the last five years, and the couple finally decided to start a new chapter of their life in 2023.
The couple exchanged vows in front of 250 guests at the JW Marriott in Charlotte. ‘Fabulously Created Events’ organized the ceremony. Bubba and Carter, who got engaged in July 2021, wore a custom dark red velvet tuxedo designed by Stitched by Mitch, a gown by Madam Burcu Couture, and shoes by Lola Cruz for the special night of their life.
“Getting married, and starting a new life together, I’m just so excited to have a good one in my corner. We have so much fun together,” Bubba Wallace told PEOPLE about marrying Amanda Carter.
“We just have such a good bond. I love the time we spend together. We could sit around together all day every day and we don’t get tired of one another. And he’s also handsome and charming,” said Carter at the wedding.
The couple will jet off to Bora Bora, a French Republic Island part of the French Polynesia Island society. The internationally renowned tourist spot is famous for its offshore views and luxury resorts. It has a land area of just 32 square Kilometre. Wallace is expected to spend quality time there with Carter before returning in February for the 2023 Cup season.
The Different experience Bubba Wallace arranged for the wedding guests
The guest had a different experience altogether. The couple arranged a dinner for the guest that served Italian cuisine, Asian stir fry, burgers, and tacos from tapas-style stations. This was done, so the couple had ample time to greet and meet all the guests. They even had a McDonald’s food truck present at the place. McDonald’s is one of the primary spooners of Bubba.
“We’re not doing a seated dinner with over 200 people,” says Carter. “We wanted to make sure that we have time to see everybody. And a seated dinner really can take away from being able to talk to everybody,” Amanda Carter said about the dinner.
“The food will be really fun. We just really wanted it to be a fun atmosphere, not stuffy, even though everyone’s going to be dressed up. We wanted a more casual food setting since it was late in the evening. And then at 1 a.m. when the party’s over, we have a McDonald’s food truck coming to serve chicken nuggets and french fries,” Amanda Carter added.
Wallace loves dancing as “It’s got to be the right vibe,” joined with Amanda Carter to pick a playlist comprised of “90s hits, hip hop, and EDM” for the DJ event. Since Wallace isn’t a big fan of deserts, the couple skipped the traditional wedding cock. Instead, it served “custom pretzel wall, cake pops, sugar and chocolate chip cookies, banana pudding shooters and fruit and almond flavored macarons,”.
