No, and this has been something I’ve really been looking forward to. I’m still such a big fan of NASCAR, and it’s been really cool to see a lot of the NASCAR 75 stuff, and now we’re going back to North Wilkesboro. That’s big for the sport,” Briscoe said.

Guys like Dale (Earnhardt) Jr., have worked hard to get us back there, and I’m excited to see the Truck Series and Cup cars out there, and to be a part of it. I know it’ll be an exciting race. The All-Star Race is one that a lot of guys want to win, already, and now it’s on a track that is so important to NASCAR’s history. It’s a good combination that should put on a good show,” Briscoe added.

Preece pointed out that the track has unparalleled history and legacy. He said it’s the right time for the series to return to the track. Preece said, “This track has so much rich history, and it’s going to be so awesome to be behind the wheel of a Cup car at this track that the legends of our sport have raced on. It’s definitely the right time for our sport,”.

He added that the shot track adds the tire degradation factor to the race that racers crave. Preece said, “We want short tracks. We want that style of racing, especially at North Wilkesboro, which eats up tires. For us racecar drivers, it allows us to go into our toolbox and do different things to save tires or make speed in the long run,”.

The Nostalgia about the track among fans will also make it a special event. Preece said, “I couldn’t be more excited. With the strategy and how old the asphalt is, it’s going to be such an exciting race. When you walk in there, you’re going to feel that history, the nostalgia, and the fans. They want it, and we want it as drivers, so it’s going to be something special,”.
