Chase Elliott is one of the favorites in running for the 2022 cup championship. The regular season champion has been among the most productive drivers on the grid. The last two playoff races haven’t been solid for the HMS driver. He finished outside the Top 15 both times.

The No:9 team will be hoping to bounce back with a solid finish this weekend at Homestead, Miami. The race will also mark the Next-Gen car’s race debut there. He currently ranks P3 in the standing, just one point off of P2-placed Ross Chastain. Elliott needs a couple of consistent finishes to secure a season finale spot.

We just need to go down there and just try to have a solid weekend. Do we have to go win the race? No, I don’t think you have to go win the race, but I think you put yourself in position, getting some solid stage points, being upfront, and being in the mix. Those are things that are going to hedge your bet of being happy after Martinsville (Speedway),” Chase Elliott said.

I don’t think anyone’s been immune to inconsistency with this car throughout the season. You don’t care who you are or what you’ve got going on you. You can get humbled fast and then you know on the flip side we’ve been fortunate enough to have some good weeks too, so would love to see that inconsistency improve,Chase Elliott told NASCAR.com.

Chase Elliott believes the No:9 team is super capable of delivering in the playoffs. He said, “From our team side, we want to be better every week is not as Hit or Miss as we’ve been. I think that’s where our heads are at right now, just trying to make that a little better and I think we’re Super-capable,”.

Chase Elliott had a disappointing start to the Round of 8 with the P21 finish at Vegas. his last two races after the Talladega win have been 20 or below. Bad luck has been a factor in the poor finishes Elliott. But he needs to level up to secure his second cup championship.
