The reconfigured Intermediate Track with superspeedway characteristics produced one of the best races last time around and the NASCAR community will be hoping for an improved race product this time around as teams and drivers will be entering the track with a strong understanding of the car compared to last time.

Though Chase Elliott failed to fare n Superspeedways as he does on other tracks, he will be hoping the advantage he has from the data from the winning run by his teammate William Byron last time at the start will be a good one for him.

Chase Elliott acknowledged that he expects the upcoming race to go like the first one played out earlier this season with the only key difference being the fact that the items had the chance to understand what is going on underneath the car. He went on to add that the cars are going to drive better when drivers return to some tracks which will eventually increase the aggression factor of the race as the piolets will be more comfortable in putting g their cars in compromising situations.

This weekend’s race will be a lot like the first one. I think the difference will be teaming now has had a few months to kind of dial in and understand exactly what’s going on underneath the car. I think all the cars are just going to drive better when we come back and typically when that happens, the aggression level will increase and people are going to be more apt to put themselves in compromised situations throughout the event,” Chase Elliott said.

Chase Elliott added that there were a lot of things that were going on at the beginning of the year as a majority of the drivers were just trying to survive certain races. He points out that drivers will be more comfortable this weekend which makes the decision-making a little more questionable for a lot of individuals on the field.

There were a lot of things going on to start the year and I think a lot of people were just trying to survive. Whereas this time everyone is going to be a little bit more comfortable, so decision-making will be a little more questionable for a lot of the field I would say,” Chase Elliott added.

Chase Elliott claims that he wants to just get to the end of the race this time around as the 500 miles last time around was one of the; longest races he had in March in his No:9 car. He added that when you are in a bit of a marathon event like what he had last time around, you have to survive and stay around until the end of the race.

For me, I want to try to get to the end. Five hundred miles at Atlanta was one of the longest races of the year in March from my seat. That being said, when you’re in a bit of a marathon event like that, you’ve got to survive. You want to be around there at the end,” says Chase Elliott.

Chase Elliott added that if he is able to secure a lead on the lap with no damage to the car, he will have a shot at winning towards the end of the race. He pointed out that staying to the end of the race and taking the right decision under the right circumstances will enable you to ake a possible victory in the end.

So, if you can be on the lead lap and not have any damage to your car, you’re probably going to have a shot at it at the end of the event. So, for me, I’m just like, ‘man, let’s get to the end and we’ll run then for the win hopefully.’ You never know. You try to take each circumstance for what it is and make the best decision you can,” added Chase Elliott.
