Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson put on a show on track at Kansas on Sunday, but the race made headlines due to an off-track incident involving two Chevy drivers. Trackhouse Racing driver Ross Chastain and LEGACY MC rookie Noah Gregson had a heated confrontation after the race. The No:1 driver landed a right hook on the rookie.

If Gragson weren’t forcefully removed from the scene by NASCAR officials, the situation would have gone out of hand.  The No:42 Chevy driver decided to confront the Trackhouse driver due to an aggressive move from last year’s Cup runner-up. They had a tussle the previous week at Talladega as well. After their fight, when Grason was being escorted away from Chastain, HMS driver Chase Elliott  was heard saying, “Somebody’s got to do it.”

While talking to the media after the incident,  Jimmie Johnson’s driver pointed out that he would have at least two opportunities per race in the coming weekends for payback. He expects Chastain to unlap him often in the coming weeks as he has a superior car which gives him the opportunity to have revenge.

The guy just runs into everyone. When you got guys like Chase Elliott, other guys telling you to go beat his ass. Everyone’s sick and tired of him, but nobody has the balls to go up and get him. I’m tired of it,” Gragson said.

We’re not the fastest this year. He’s going to probably be lapping us quite a bit this year. Once or twice a race it seems like that’s what the trend has been so far this year. So, yeah, got two opportunities every single race,” Gragson added.

In his post-race interview, the Camaro ZL1 driver said that he prompted the incident on turn in the race and made Gragson mad. He said, “I got tight off of Turn 4, for sure. Noah and I have a very similar attitude on the racetrack. We train together. We prepare together. We know every little bit about each other,”.

He went on to say that his action on track was inquinated by a move that was pulled on him by the youngster. He explained his minor retaliation that later had major consequences by saying there is an anti-pushing policy at Trackhouse.

Yeah, I definitely crowded him up off of Turn 4. He took a swipe at us in Turn 3 and then came down and grabbed ahold of me. A very big man once told me we have a no-push policy here at Trackhouse,” he added.
