This was an emotional day. Watching Kevin Harvick finish his career drives home just how far into this life I find myself. So many years and memories in the past. And Ryan Blaney, who I remember talking to on the grid of his first cup start. I brought the beer to the post-race party after the first cup win.

Blaney was Dale Jr.’s pick to win the 2023 Cup title before the playoff started, making the occasion special for him as well. Junior pointed out that seeing a good guy like Blaney winning the title is special for him. He added that NASCAR is a frustrating sport but still means a lot to him.

It’s been fun to watch his career. He’s one of the good guys and does what he can to push the sport forward. Man, this sport can be frustrating at times, but it still to this day means the world to me and gets to me like nothing else in my professional life does. Now, time to go home and be with my girls.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. might be frustrated over the Xfinity series results

2023 marked the second straight season. Dale Jr.’s Xfinity Series drivers failed to win the most important race of the season. In 2022, he had three drivers in the Championship-4, but none was able to make that final charge, and in 2023, the number dropped to two this season, but the results were the same.

This year, the JRM flag was carried by Sam Mayor and Justin Allgaier, who have won four races coming to the event. But their charge for the title came to a painful end after Stewart Haas Racing’s Cole Custer won the final race with a marginal lead to Allgaier.

But, the Champion driver and his team will go back to the drawing board and try again as they always do in 2024, fighting for the title once again. They have the same drivers line-up for the coming season as well, as JRM gave all four of them a contract extension.
