Trackhouse Racing’s No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driver Daniel Suarez would love to make it to the NASCAR Cup Playoffs. Of course, he would be over the moon if he were to secure a Cup playoff spot for the second consecutive year. However, he claims there is no point worrying about it as it will only add to the misery.

Daniel Suarez and his team made the 2022 NASCAR Cup playoffs thanks to his memorable first win in Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. They are yet to earn their first victory this season, and the clock is ticking. He needs 34 points to enter the playoffs in a 16-driver field. Although, there are only four races left in the regular season. While this can be stressful, Suarez has taken a different approach by staying positive.

Daniel Suarez claims he can still reach the playoffs. He is quoted by Motorsport.com, “There are a million scenarios that can happen. I try to focus only on what I can control. I don’t know that we have to win, but we will see. We have to take it one race at a time.” The best way to secure a playoff spot at a time like this is to win a race. And the Mexican-American driver believes in himself and the possibility.

Suarez added, “There is a lot of racing left. I told my guys all of us need to relax and have fun. That’s when we perform our best. We have some really good tracks coming up for us. Trackhouse Racing has a great road course program and we have run really well at Daytona and Michigan.” His positive and confident attitude could get him a win, but only time will tell.

Last season, Suarez and his Trackhouse Racing teammate Ross Chastain secured their maiden Cup win on road courses and had a good run on superspeedways. The 31-year-old was close to winning a race this season at Atlanta and finished second. Apart from a win that would lock him into the playoffs, he could also score points. And the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway could be a perfect opportunity for him.

In 2022, Daniel Suarez had a good race in Michigan until he got trapped by Christopher Bell and Ross Chastain. He recalled that he and his teammate had great cars, and the wreck was unfortunate. It cost the drivers a shot at winning the race. Suarez hopes they are fast on Sunday and will try to earn maximum points or win the race. Though this season has been a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs for Daniel Suarez, there is still hope. He has four chances in the remaining four races.
