The NASCAR cup series grid will hit the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course this weekend for the Round of 12 elimination race. Four drivers from the current 12-man playoff grid will be eliminated from the championship chase.

Trackhouse Racing, No:99 Camaro ZL1 driver Daniel Suarez is one of the candidates who might miss the round of 8. The Mexican is positioned P8 in the championship table. He needs at least a win or a front-row finish to ensure his progress to the next round.

He has everything aligned for him to go for the win. The ex-Xfinity series champion’s first career cup win came this year at the Sonoma Road course. The Trackhouse team has been the one to beat road course races this season. ROVAL will be the best place for him to get back to winning ways.

Daniel Suarez said that he feels confident going into ROVAL on Sunday. He said, I feel very good about it. My goal today was to at least break even. I haven’t seen the points to know, but I think we did that. Heading to the ROVAL, I feel very confident that we can contend for it,”.

Daniel Suarez pointed out that Trackhouse has a good road course program and he and Chastain have a strong chance to win at ROVAL. He said, “We have a very good road course program at Trackhouse Racing. Both Ross and I have won races and been strong in each race. It’s a great feeling as a driver to know you have a strong chance to win every time you race,”.

He added that if not for the blown engine in Talladega, he would have 12 points ahead of the cut-off. He said, “Talladega was such a wild card that I said I just wanted to break even and I think we did more than that. We got very lucky. I’m not sure we would be 12 points ahead of the cutoff if that race were a few laps longer. The engine blew up with 15 laps to go and I was barely hanging in there,”.

Daniel Suarez pointed out that he was helped by William Byron on the final restart at Talladega to have a good start but was unlucky he couldn’t finish the race. He added that he is confident going into Charlotte this weekend.

On that restart, I couldn’t go and the 24 (William Byron) helped me a lot to get going, but the engine was killed. So, I guess we had a little bit of luck because it was definitely killed and we were about to not finish that race. We are just going to do our thing this weekend in Charlotte. I feel very confident,” says Daniel Suarez.
