Mexican NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suarez has pointed out that he has a special relationship with his boss Pitbull. The Latino pop star joined hands with Justin Marks in 2021 to create Trackhouse Racing and hired Suarez to drive for them in the first season. They are now a two-car operation with the Mexican in the No:99 Chevy and Ross Chastin in the NBo:1 car.
Trackhouse has evolved into one of the best teams in the Cup garage. They are regular challenges for wins in Cup events and have unique endowers such as Project 91, which gives international drivers a shot in the Cup series. The initiative became a massive success when Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen won the inaugural Chicago Street Cup race on his debut.
While Justin Marks has been the master brain behind the teams’ regular operation, Pitbull also plays a huge role. He gives the team a much bigger limelight and greatly motivates his drivers to strive for the absolute best. Suarez and Pitbull share a special relationship since they are both Latinos and made it to the top with humble beginnings.
“Pitbull is definitely a special individual. Believe it or not, we have a few things in common other than being Latinos. But also the fact that we came from nothing. I came from a very humble family. And for me to be a professional race-car driver was,” Suarez told Fox Sports.
“The percentage of me making, it was very, very low, as it was for Pitbull. We have had a lot of conversations on this, and for me, to have Pitbull as my owner, we are, I will say, the only dual Latino like this in the entire sport,” Suarez added.

Sharing a common first language makes Daniel Suarez-Pitbull relationship special

The Camaro ZL1 driver pointed out that Spanish is the duo’s first language, making their prelateship special as they are free while speaking to each other. He said, “The fact that we can communicate in a different language, that makes things a little bit special, a little bit more unique, more personal. I feel very fortunate to have him on my car.”
Learning English was one of Suarez’s major challenges when they moved to the US to pursue a career in NASCAR. So having someone who shares a similar background and having the opportunity to speak to him in Spanish is something he cherishes. Saurez sees a bright future for him with Pitbull’s team.
“It’s in Spanish. Those are things that are natural. Spanish, obviously, is my first language. And I will say that for Pitbull, Spanish is his first language. And then his second language is Spanglish with the way that he sings. He’s great. I feel very, very blessed to be in this position. I believe that we have an amazing future ahead of us,” Suarez said.
