Trackhouse Racing’s No:91 team made history with supercar champion Shane van Gisbergen behind the wheel at its inaugural NASCAR Cup Street Race in Chicago. They helped the Kiwi to become the first debutant Cup race winner in six decades and the first driver since Tim Flock to win in the No:91 car in seven decades.

Trackhouse Racing has one of the strongest Road course racing packages in the Chevy garage, and it was on full display at Chicago, where they were able to give the winner van Gisbergen the right. The team’s No:99 Camaro ZL1 driver Daniel Suarez was another driver who had a strong race at Chicago till it all went south, and he ended up in P27.

While talking about his performance and the project 91 cars win, he pointed out that he is frustrated because of his failure to convert P5 start to a win despite having a fast Camry. He added that he was happy for the Kiwi and his team after thanking them for the fast cars. Suarez also appreciated the City and NASCAR for hosting such a great event.

That was pretty frustrating because we have a really good Worldwide Express Chevrolet today. I thought we were going to be there at the end, but we just had too many issues at the end to contend,” Suarez said.

I couldn’t be happier for Shane and everyone at Trackhouse. They gave us good cars all weekend, and I think everyone noticed. I thought today was a fantastic event in Chicago, and thank everyone for their hard work,” the Mexican added.

Trackhouses’s No:1 Chevy driver Ross Chastain has a tough day in Chicago. He came to the race following an impressive win at Nashville but couldn’t use the momentum to his advantage on his street course debut. He finished P22 after starting the race at P34 on the back of a poor qualifying run while his teammates secured top 5 starts.

While talking about his Street Racing experience admitted that he got some work to master the street course as he does it in Road Courses and added that he learned a lot on Sunday. He added that the weather condition did make the race a bit hard.

Well, it wasn’t the best day for our UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Chevrolet. I’ve got some work to do on this street course (laughs), but I do feel like I learned quite a bit. The weather conditions made it tough, but I had a great day meeting AdventHealth guests, and several of them stayed even in the rain,” Chastain said.
