The NASCAR Truck Series Race at Pocono witnessed a big mess as Carson Hocevar was involved in a multi-car wreck along with multiple playoff contenders. The race ended with two times Nascar Cup Series champion Kyle Busch securing the 100th win for the team in the series, his 64th win in the third division, and his 229th NASCAR race win.

The Carson Hocevar incident occurred on the penultimate restart with just nine laps left in the race. Hocevar’s Niece Motorsports No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado slid up to the outside on a three-wide run and made contact with Kaz Grala and Parker Kligerman. Both drivers were put on the wall ending their promising run on the day. Kaz Grala went on to crash in the Xfinity Series race later as well.

The incident also collected defending champion Zane Smith who won the two stages of the race.  Trackhouse Racing’s Ross Chastain Cup preparation was also damaged during the incident after he was collected as well. Xfinity title contender Austin Hill also crashed out, but he got redemption by winning the second-tier race hours after.

The NASCAR fans online weren’t pleased with the antics on the track and were too quick to call him out via social media. Fans on Twitter pointed out that wrecking the field has become pretty common for the driver, and few slammed him for taking out their favorite driver.

Hocevar, despite the wreck, is still in a solid position in his bid to fight for the championship on his third full-time season with Niece.  He has won two races so far and finished in the top 10 in six locations outside the win. Five of those finishes were inside the top 5.
