NASCAR has named the defending Cup series champion Joey Logano as one of the 75 greatest drivers ever in the list. The Team Penske Racing driver is one of the most accomplished drivers of his generation and has a lot left to offer to racing fans. Logano is the only active maritime cup champion other than Kyle Busch of Richard Childress Racing.
Joey Logano has been a proven winner since his junior days and is the youngest winner in the Xfinity series and the Cup series. He won the second division series race in 2008 at 18 and the next year won his maiden Cup race marking history. 2008 witnessed his NASCAR top-tier debut. He was the Busch series east champion the previous year. He made his Truck debut that season as well.
The 2015 Daytona 500 winner was given his Cup shot by Joe Gibbs Racing in 2018, and he secured a full-time seat the very next year. Logano’s time with the Toyota team wasn’t a pleasant experience, as the New England native failed to establish himself as the main man on Joe Gibbs’s team. He left the No:20 team to join Roger Penske’s No:22 Ford Mustang crew in 2013.
It was one the best decision of his career as he was able to score thrice the number of wins he had at JGR in just two seasons with the Ford team. Barring the 2017 season, he has been finishing inside the championship Top 10. He won his first title in 2018, and in 2022, he repeated the feat. In his NASCAR career, Logano has won 32 Cup races, 30 Xfinity wins, and 2 Truck series wins.
