Denny Hamlin had a tough day at Atlanta Motor Speedway that saw getting wrecked or spun thrice, Ironically, he completed a racing trifecta and crashed once in each of the three stages.  Two of the incidents Hamlin had on Sunday involved his former teammates, namely the two times Cup champions Joey Logano and Kyle Busch.

Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch was first to put Hamlin in a tricky situation. They made contact earlier in the first stage, while Hamlin made a move to the inside lane thinking he was clear. But he wasn’t and Busch who was driving along him on the same lane spun him to the AMS in filed grass. Fortunately, both cars didn’t have any major damage.

The incident was arguably proof of Busch’s words about racing or drafting alongside Hamlin on Superspeedway while they were teammates at JGR. He pointed out that Hamlin races like a kid who sees a squirrel, as the No:11 Toyota often makes sudden and drastic changes that ruin momentum and sometimes cause incidents.

Hamlin then went on to crash twice in the race finishing P23, limping his way to the finish line. At the same time, Busch had an impressive race and he was able to finish P3, just 0.007 seconds behind winner Daniel Suarez in an epic three-car photo finish. Busch was able to get into the mix only final laps with a push he got from Hamlin’s driver Bubba Wallace in 23XI’s No:23 Toyota.

The NASCAR fans on social media were quick to share their opinions on the incident. Some resorted to the comment box of NASCAR’s official X page that shared a video of the incident. The reaction was mixed, but the majority was in favor of Busch over Hamlin.
