The Busch brothers are, without any doubt, one of the best, if not the best, sibling duo to race in NASCAR. Kurt Busch and Kyle Busch together have three cups championship wins alongside a number of NASCAR records in their name in their respective careers, which transformed the premier stock car racing scene in a number of ways.

The duo who are currently contracted with Toyota teams has been as competitive and impressive as they have been though out their career. The younger and most accomplished driver of the two, Kyle Busch, has been the talisman of Joe Gibbs Racing since he debuted for them, and though there have been some struggles regarding his contract one of the best drivers of the 2022 season.

Kurt Busch, on the other hand, finds himself in an awkward situation as the most experienced active cup racer on the grid who made his debut for 23X1 Racing and secured his playoff spot with a win in Dover. But right now, the veteran is forced to relinquish his playoff spot as he failed to recover from the concussion he suffered in his crash during Pocono qualifiers.

Young JGR driver Ty Gibbs replaced the veteran ever since and has been producing some commendable runs in the  No:45 Camry of Kurt Busch. The youngster will continue to drive the No:45 car into the playoff as the entry of the 23X1 team’s constructers championship candidate. Now Kyle Busch has come forth to express his thoughts on his brother’s situation and decision.

Kyle Busch acknowledged that his brother is down right through he wants to get in the car and put on the helmet again to race. He added that Kyle Busch is a talented and driven individual who wants to do what he loves to do. Kyle Busch pointed out that he respects the decision of his older brother to renounce the playoff spot.

He’s down right now. He wants to be here. He wants to race and put on a helmet again and get back in that race car. He’s a talented and driven individual who wants to go out there and do what he loves to do. I respect his decision and the news he gave earlier this week about relinquishing a Playoff spot,” Kyle Busch said.

Kyle Busch went on to say that the decision was a mighty strong one for him as he gave up the spot enabling other drivers to fight for that spot in his absence and uncertain status. He reiterated that it was a strong decision from his brother and added that Kurt Busch is going to bode well.

I think that’s mighty strong of him. He’s relinquishing that spot for others to be able to go out and race with his unknown status at this time. So, I think that was very strong with him. And yeah, I think that’s going to bode well,” Kyle Busch added.

Can Kurt Busch make it back to the post-season races this season?
