Kyle Busch’s claim to the Hall of Fame status came to public attention one more time after he won his first race of the 2022 season coming at Bristol Dirt track, making him the second driver to win races in 18 consecutive seasons after NASCAR legend Richard Petty

NASCAR will hit the Dover Monster Mile this week hoping to get another win to his name. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was asked about his thoughts on his potential Hall of fame entry to which he replied by asking multiple questions such as how many years does he have to wait until he gets in after retiring, is he the…etc. He ended the answer by saying he guess he would know about it for 12 years.

We’re all drivers and when you get voted in the Hall of Fame, you are a Hall of Famer, right? That’s the way it happens. Am I one? How many years do you have to wait once you retire? Is it three or five? (Two). It’s two. Thank you. I guess I will know in about 12 years, Kyle Busch said.

When asked about how he is getting ready for the Dover Motor speedway Cup Race which is on this Sunday, Kyle Busch replied that it is hard to understand the track but they are conducting simulations of what happened on the track in the past within the Next-Gen car. He went on to say that just like every other team JGR is trying to fill out those philosophies which made them successful in the past now.

It’s hard to exactly decipher that. You try to think of the right setup and the things you’ve done here in the past with loads and simulation and put it towards what the new car is and how you can apply that. I think everybody does that every week, so I don’t know if that is any different, but trying to fill out those philosophies to what has made us successful here in the past,” Kyle Busch said.

Kyle Busch when asked about the No:18 team’s performance so far this season said that they are not yet the dominant force of the season compared to some of the drivers who have been running consistently this season. He added that it would be nice to get back to the footprint adding they are now clawing their way to get finishes.

We’re still not the dominant force of being able to go out and lead laps and beat the competition into the ground like we would like to do. It would be nice to get back to that footprint, but I don’t know that I’ve seen somebody that necessarily is doing that. There are a couple of guys that are running a little bit more consistent, a little bit better average running position during a race than us, but we are able to claw our way to get finishes,” says Kyle Busch.
