Even Justin Marks and Pitbull wouldn’t have had an idea that their NASCAR outfit Trackhouse Racing will be this much of a success so early this season their No: 1 car driver Ross Chastain secured them their 2nd win of 2022 both coming from the “Watermelon man” himself. Trackhouse Racing made the ambitious move of purchasing Chip Ganassi Racing to expand their cars to 2, no one was expecting them to fair this early in the season.
The team has secured a combined 8 top 5 finishes alongside their 2 wins this season thanks to their drivers Ross Chastain and his partner No:99 car driver Daniel Suarez. Now following his Talladega win Ross Chastain has come forth acknowledging that he was not expecting his team to fare so early this season after their 2021 expansion.
Find out what Ross Chastain said
Ross Chastain was asked in the post-race interview that could he ever imagine the success he was able to amass in just the beginning of his career with Trackhouse Racing to which he replied he didn’t. He went on to explain his words by saying when Trackhouse racing owner Justin Marks purchased his former team CGR and announced him as the driver for the No:1 car with ambitious plans, he had no idea other than he will be having his same crew for the next year.
Ross Chastain went on to add that he now has partners who are believing in them and added that all this materialized thanks to the vision of Justin Marks and co-owners Pitbull and Armando.
“No. Are you kidding me? You know me. I’ve wrecked myself so many times and gotten into it with guys. I’ve probably got a watermelon seed. This is a true seedless,” Ross Chastain said.
“Yeah, I mean, Justin Marks and what he laid out for us was ambitious. I had no idea, you know what to expect other than I knew I had my group from last year, I had AdventHealth, the Moose, now with Worldwide Express and Jockey coming on board, we’ve got partners. They’re believing in us. We started the year with a lot of races open. We’re almost full now. It’s because of the vision of Justin Marks. Pitbull, Armando, we won, yeah!” Ross Chastain added.
