NASCAR will hit the track running tomorrow for the inaugural Cup Race at the St. Louis World-Wide Technology Raceway. The 1.25 Mile track will host the 15th round of regular-season racing which will also mark the track debut of Next-Gen cars. The race day is expected to produce fireworks as the competition for limited playoff spots available with the races is getting reduced each week as the playoffs get closer.

Going into the new track the No:22 Ford Mustang driver for Team Penske Racing, Joey Logano will be someone to watch out for in gateway as he has a good track record in Gateway. The 2018 cup champion was the fastest in practice on Friday and will be staring at P7 on Sunday’s final race with two of his teammates Austin Cindric and Ryan Blaney starting ahead of him in the respective order.

Joey Logano will be hopeful for the final race as the Ford Mustangs were the fastest in qualifying and the previous experiences, he had on the track surely be an advantage on his side. After his practice run on Friday Joey Logano came forth to acknowledge his excitement coming to the track and he feels that the track is quite similar to the Pheonix Raceway.

Joey Logano said that he missed the fun racing he had on the Gateway track and shared the memories that are coming back from the track through the track are repaved as he identifies the smoothness still remains with the track. He went on to say that Turn 1 and 2 in Gateway are one of the best corners in Cup as it gives the driver opportunity to move around and try different things. He added that he finds it fun to get off the gas pedal and on the brake and manage both pedals again alluding to the shifting factor something he enjoys very much.

I’ve missed it. This is a fun racetrack. It was already fun out there, and memories are coming back from 2008 — although they repaved it — and the track is a fair amount smoother than it used to be,” Joey Logano said.

Turns 1 and 2 are one of the best corners in our sport. You can move around and try different things and you’re shifting. It’s fun to be able to get off the gas pedal and on the brake and manage both pedals again. I’ve enjoyed that,” Joey Logano added.

Joey Logano went on to say that turn three and 4 force the drives to really push themselves and hustle it while the track is pretty fun to go around.  He pointed out that the turns are already taking some rubber and the cars are also moving up the track easily.

Turns 3 and 4 are a part of the track where you really got to push yourself and hustle it. It makes for a pretty fun track to go around by yourself. We’ll see what the race is like. It seems like 1 and 2 are already taking rubber, and cars are moving up the race track already,” says Joey Logano.
