“I stand behind what I did,” Josh Williams furious after getting banned from NASCAR COTA Xfinity race
Josh Williams's take on getting banned from the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity race at the Circuit of the Americas.

Josh Williams
Josh Williams, the NASCAR Xfinity racer, has been smacked with a one-race ban. It has come out that Williams has got a suspension because of his actions at last Saturday’s Xfinity race at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. He disobeyed a direct order from the race officials, and for it, he has been asked to sit out the upcoming race at the Circuit of the Americas.
Josh Williams at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, was asked by the race officials to park his car in his garage, as debris was noticed coming off of his car. However, he simply declined the direction and parked his car at the start-finish line. Moreover, he then got out and started running toward his crew while acknowledging the fans.
When Williams was made aware of the penalty during the event, he came onto the team radio. He insinuated that “apparently” it’s NASCAR regulation to park your vehicle following a car wreck. He then went on saying, “This is some bull you know what. I’ve never heard of this in my life.” Looking at what he has said, it is clear that he does not agree with the race ban that he has been smacked with.
COTA holds a special place in every racing category, and Josh Williams is gutted to miss out on the event. In his opinion, what he did was as per the regulations, and it should not have come to him getting a one-race ban. However, this is the situation that he has found himself in, and it would be hard for him to watch the enthralling action from the sidelines.

Josh Williams fully respects NASCAR’s decision

While Josh Williams’s anger level went over the roof when he found out about his ban, he has also admitted that he respects the decision that was made by the organizers. Firstly, he wrote via his Twitter, “I stand behind what I did and don’t regret any action I made.” Moreover, after a while, he again jumped onto the platform and wrote, “I stand behind NASCAR for these decisions and will continue and always continue to support them.“
Williams is aware that it is in his best interest to stay on the good side of the organizers. While people won’t get the chance to see the driver do his thing in COTA, he has taken the opportunity to promote his “park it” t-shirts, the proceeds of which will go to various hospitals that he supports. He has been conducting his Josh Williams Hospital tours since 2015 and so far, has visited over 140 children.
The NASCAR Xfinity event in COTA is scheduled for the upcoming 26th of March. The fans won’t be able to see Williams in his car at the event, but thankfully, he has only got a one-race ban. The star driver would be back on the oval circuit soon after COTA, the next race is on the 1st of April, and for that, he would certainly be available.
