The wedding, a whimsical affair, unfolded on November 17 at the Grand Bohemian in Charlotte, North Carolina. The duo, already deeply rooted in the city’s romantic charm, chose this location as their wedding backdrop.

The engagement unfolded between the Bristol dirt race in April and the Martinsville race weekend, adding a personal touch to Haley’s illustrious professional journey. Mottinger, a steadfast supporter throughout the 2023 season, played a pivotal role in Haley’s accomplishments, notably a noteworthy P6 finish at the Bristol dirt race. Their unique story traces back to Mottinger placing a bet on Haley at a Daytona race, where he secured victory amidst rain-shortened conditions, sparking the inception of their relationship.

The newlyweds shared the details about their “fairytale wedding” with People Magazine. Mottinger, capturing the essence of their celebration, expressed;

Haley, who bagged a 15th place finish at Charlotte this May, explained the choice of Charlotte, saying, “We share a lot of memories in Charlotte, including where we first met, the very romantic Charlotte airport.” The couple’s decision to keep the wedding exclusive resonated in every detail, from Mottinger’s Mikaella by Paloma Blanca gown to the candlelit ceremony designed by planner Jackie Fogarty.
