The 2017 NASCAR Cup series champion Kevin Harvick and his fellow Stewart Haas Racing drivers have named the archnemesis of their boss, Tony Stewart. But only two of the four drivers got the answer to who the SRX Championship owner considered his biggest rival during his time in the premier stock car division.
SHR’s Harvick, Aric Almirola, Ryan Preece, and Chase Briscoe were asked who they think was the biggest rival of Stewart while he was racing. They then asked the bossman himself to confirm the answer. Briscoe, who now drives the No:14 car the three times Cup champion used to drive, and Almirola of the No:10 Ford got the answer right, while the others didn’t.
Harvick names Kenny Irwin; he said, “Kenny Irwin was probably the early ones.” His fellow veteran Ryan Preece said it would have been defending Cuyp champion Joey Logano; he said, “I mean, it’s tough, he had a few,” later wondering if it was “Joey Logano.”
Chase Briscoe added his guess as he said, “In my eyes, it was always Jeff Gordon,” and veteran Aric Almirola has the same answer. He said, “His arch-nemesis? Jeff Gordon.” SHR Xfinity Series driver Cole Custer also got named the Hendrick Motorsports vice-president. He wasn’t as sure as his Cup counterparts.
Custer Xfinity teammate Riley Herbst has the best answer of the day, though it was wrong. He said that the officials were Stewart’s biggest rival. Finally, the boss was asked to answer the question, and after some hesitation, he named the four times Cup champion. He said, “God, I don’t know. I’m going to say, Jeff Gordon.”

Jeff Gordan had the upper hand on Tony Stewart in the NASCAR Cup series
The two legendary drivers of the spot have been part of some of the classic fights in the sport’s history. The four times Cup champion Jeff Gordan has the upper hand on his three times Cup title-winning drivers.
Gordan has won 93 NASCAR Cup races driving for Hendrick Motorsports his whole career. From 85 races in his 25-year-long career, the No:25 Chevy driver has finished inside the Top 10s in 477 races. The Hall of Famer also has 5 Xfinity series wins from the 73 starts he made in the second division.
Stewart has driven for two teams and three different manufacturers in his career, lasting 18 years, from 49 Cup races from 613 starts, and finished in the top 10 377 times. He also has 11 Xfinity Series wins, and two Truck Series wins on his list.
Gordan has won the iconic Daytona 500, which Stewart couldn’t do his whole career despite trying hard. The duo are the sport’s most successful road course racers, with the former leading the chart with no wins and the latter having one less. Stewart is IndyCar champion, an accomplishment Gordan will never be able to replicate.
