The 2023 NASCAR Cup season is more special to SHR veteran Kevin Harvick than any other driver. It will be the final season in the premier division as a full-time driver for the legendary driver. The No:4 has been winless since the penultimate race of the 2022 regular season, and the whole SHR garage is yet to produce a solid run in 2023.
Harvick is the most consistent driver in SHR in 2023, as he always has been. He has scored 4 top 5 finishes this season, and his best finish, P2, came last week at Darlington. ‘The Closer’ scored 2 top 10s and 3 top 15s. His worst finishes came at Atlanta (P33) and Talladega (P21) superspeedway races.
Ahead of the All-Star race at North Wilkesboro, Harvick was asked about his chance to win the 2023 regular season championship. Though the whole SHR garage remains winless, the 2014 Champion is hopeful they are one of the contenders and will soon secure a spot in the playoff via a race win.
“I think for us our cars, I speak of the four teams, our cars have run competitively, and we’ve been in position and just haven’t knocked that door down yet, but it’s like I keep telling them, ‘You keep knocking on that door, and eventually somebody is gonna answer it,'” Harvick said.

Kevin Harvick believes that the short-track package can yield a win in 2023

The Ford cars have been struggling to produce solid runs this season. Other than defending champion Joey Logano of Team Penske Racing, no other Ford team has secured a win so far this year. Though the stats are concerning, Harvick is confident of the shot-track package of the team and believes that it could score a win with enough grind.
“We just have to keep dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s because that’s just where we are from an aerodynamic standpoint and everything that goes with our car currently. We just have to be able to do everything right. The cars have to be closer to perfect than the other two models currently, so we just have to keep doing the things that we’re doing,” Harvick said.
“Some tracks affect it more than the others, and I think with the small spoiler and the short track package, it’s been good for us so far, so hopefully, that continues, and we can continue to do the things that we’ve done as a team and see where it all lands. You just have to keep clicking them off week by week, and so far, we’ve done good for the most part every week,” Harvick added.
