“Inconsistency of consistency is impeccable,” Kyle Busch calls out NASCAR’s hypocrisy over sanctions
Following the move to RCR, Kyle Busch has been more vocal about issues surrounding NASCAR.

Kyle Busch had a poor day behind the wheels of the No:8 Camaro ZL1 at Martinsville before making an impressive run, assisted by luck, to secure a win last Sunday at Talladega. He was one of the best drivers of the day and deserved a second win of the season. Busch and being a contender to win every race, has also been more vocal than ever before in 2023. He started the lack of respect conversation in the garage and now has come out criticizing NASCAR for inconsistent sanctions.
Busch’s former teammate and Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Denny Hamlin, went through a whole penalty and appeal drama after he admitted to intentionally wrecking Ross Chastain. But the same sanctioning body didn’t penalize Corey LaJoie for doing the same on Busch and admitting it in his Collecting Pennies podcast. Busch openly called out NASCAR before Sunday’s cup race.
“He was fading. I was not that great, but I was just that much better than he was, and he was running the top lane, which was my lane. I tried to go to the bottom several times, and my car would not run on the bottom. I could not accelerate out of turnhout getting loose, and I kept getting loose and barely nudging him and touching him a little bit, coming out of the corners,” Busch said.
“And then he slammed down into me down the front stretch and admitted it on his podcast that he wanted to crash me and create a yellow. And didn’t get penalized even though Denny Hamlin did. Again, our inconsistency of consistency is — or the other way around — is impeccable,” Busch added.

Corey LaJoie has always been a ‘d*** to race with,’ according to Kyle Busch
While discussing the lack of sanctions, the two times Cup series champion discussed the racing style of Lejoie, which he never enjoyed. Recalling their past encounter, the RCR driver pointed out that the Spire Motorsports driver often employed unwanted extra efforts not to let him make a pass. Kyle Busch is not a fan of the attitude.
“I don’t know. Ask everyone else. As far as him with me, he’s been a pain in the d*** to race with and pass for years — just coming up and lapping him and things like that. Every time I’m around him, it’s like he tries an extra 20% harder to make sure I stay behind him. Just not fun,” Kyle Busch said.
