The heated rivalry between the only active multiple times Cup champions, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch, doesn’t seem to be resolved any time soon. It started when they were teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing; Busch and Logano have repeatedly confronted each other on and off track. Two drivers who have the reputation of being aggressive, sparks fly whenever they come together.
They squared off for the first time this season at the LA Busch Light Clash, where Logano was the defending champion. He won the event last year, bumping Busch in the final laps, and went on to in the championship while the latter struggled to perform well and find a new team. Busch landed the RCR contract and again set himself up for the title fight.
The latest clash between Logano and Busch occurred on lap 86 of the LA clash, soon after the second-half restart. Logano dumped Busch, which sent him to the back of the grid. Busch kept his nerves and didn’t go for retaliation. Entered, he found his way to the top in the caution-filled second half and scored a P3. In his post-race interview, Busch said, “He’s (Logano) got another one coming. I owe him a few,”. Later talking with NASCAR SiriusXM Radio, he claimed that Logano is a two-faced individual.
“It’s really unfortunate to get raced by guys that are so two-faced. We were in the TV booth earlier in the night together, and when we were all done with that he was like, ‘Hey man, good luck tonight’ and I said, ‘Great, thanks, yeah. Whatever.’ And then low and behold, there you go, he wrecks me. Don’t even talk to me if you’re going to be that kind of an (expletive) on the race track,” Kyle Busch said.

Kyle Busch’s boss Richard Childress wasn’t pleased with Joey Logano
Richard Childress is a hard-core fan. He is very protective of his drivers and wants to be pleased with Logano for the move on Busch. The No:8 driver revealed that Childress slipped into his radio and asked why he didn’t do anything regarding Lognao. Busch replied that in the future in the race was more important than retaliating.
“Richard, I know he’s prone to key up a little bit here now and again. That was fine. He came on the radio, and he goes, ‘[Logano] just flat out drove through you,’ and I’m like, ‘Well, what do you want me to do about it?’ Trust me, I started behind [Logano] a couple of times on restarts and never really got a great chance. I probably could have, but it was more important to go forward than retaliate,” says Kyle Busch.
Busch is hopeful about his future with JGR as houses good chemistry being built within the team. In the race’s final lap, Busch had the opportunity to overtake Dillon and take p2 for himself; instead, he left the No:3 alone, allowing him to track down Truex Jr., which he failed to do. But this was a solid display of their chemistry that can work wonders this season if they have the right car.
“We’ve been working well together this whole weekend off the track, on the track, and having the opportunity of being able to take care of one another on a couple of those restarts. That’s just a good omen for great teamwork and good sportsmanship from the two of us, so let’s keep that rolling,” Kyle Busch added.
